Cancun

Small hotel in middle of town. Went out to the biggest hotels along the cancun beach. Went shopping and then came back to hotel. Bought some food in local supermarket. Met some people on our tour and then the entire 12 people in our group went out to dinner. Owner of restaurant tried to rip us off.
Beaches are really spectacular and many of the hotels very beautiful. Bus travel is very cheap about australian dollar.

Taxis are also very cheap as we caught a taxi to some markets and it was only 3 dollars.
We are on a tour that lasts for 25 days it's an intrepid  tour called mayan highlights

Las Vegas Los Angeles Cancun

Early start at Las Vegas. Flight to LA then Cancuun in Mexico.
In  LA we have been trying to get seats together on plane. Delta have actually been very helpful and swapped seats around for us. On the plane we have managed to get 3 seats as the women beside us moved to be with her friend. Much better for us as it is 3 1/2 hour flight.
Arrived at 3 pm. Dinner at local mex restaurant.

Las Vegas Day 4

High Roller. Suppsed to be tallest observation wheel in world.
David Copperfield at MGM Grand. Very entertaining from start to finish.

las vegas day 3

walked along the street south and looked at all the amazing casinos. In the afternoon we were picked up by a small bus and taken out to the airport for our ride to the grand canyon. went in a helicopter and was flown over the hoover dam and passed lots of the inlet of the dam. landed at the bottom of the canyon after being flown down and along the canyon. Was quite an amazing ride and flight. we then flew back to las vegas at sunset and saw the lights as we flew in and landed.

spent the day at the outlet shops.kathy bought some shoes and clothes.

we then went for a walk up to fremont street.this was worth a 30 minute bus ride. Fremont street has a big video display over the top.the whole street is bars and casinos it really is america at its worst.but it is a site not to be missed.

Las Vegas

Plane from Los Angeles was delayed because of crash at Las Vegas airport. After arrival at hotel Bally we walked around the strip and visited the Bellagio fountain.

Walked about an hour to Farmers Market where we wondered around and had some lunch. Caught the bus back to the hotel. In  the afternoon caught the train to Union Station. Had a walk around the area and visited a mexican museum.

Bob Dylan Concert at Dolby Theatre. Eventually full house. Bob only spoke at intermission.

7 hour bus trip around Los Angeles. Visited all the usual tourist spots. Venice, Venice Beach, Pier, Mullholand Drive, Beverly Hills, Downtown LA, Olvira St, Staples Centre.....

Staying at the orchid suites in downtown hollywood. Went to universal studios today . Caught the train from the local station just next door. Universal studios is only one stop away. Have a great day. Dinner at a local pizza restaurant. Wall eating dinner sun locals decided to have a punch up right next to us. Luckily steelers about 5 police sitting in the restaurant just nearest us and they quickly apprehendef and handcuffed the villains. In the picture your c a grey shirt just next to kathy. The shirt belonged to the victim.

Virgin australia seats 32 and 33

Nobody sitting next to us so we had three seats to ourselves. For the first time took some sleeping tablets which really helped us sleep. I found the flight quite easy for a change. Probably slept 4 to 5 hours.
