Had a long ride on two small buses on our way to Guatemala. Second bus was very uncomfortable. Had to change currency at the border with money lenders on the street. It cost 25 dollars to get out of mexico and about a dollar to get into Guatemala. Poverty is very high in Guatemala at around 90% of population. We are staying in a hotel near the lake and are yet to test the hot water. We are rating the hotels by whether there is hot water.
